What we do
At The Wrinkled Brain Project, we combine real scientists with seasoned educators to improve science education and interpretation for the 21st century. We want to help you wrinkle your brains with critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning!
With Gedanken, students will not just know science, but think science. Through a novel collaborative inquiry program, students explore unsolved scientific mysteries, with real scientists guiding them. They will ask their own questions, design their own experiments, and collaborate with each other figure out how to solve these perplexing issues.
The Wrinkled Brain Project’s co-founder and Director of Science, Brendan Mullan, is a Ph.D. astrophysicist, a renowned science communicator, and an explorer with National Geographic. He’s traveled around the world, bringing science and science thinking skills to classrooms and public events everywhere. And he can come to yours, too!
The Wrinkled Brain Project is pleased to collaborate with Blue Marble Space on Habitable Press, a publishing initiative operated by scientists and educators who are passionate about bridging the gap between academic and everyday knowledge. Our goal is to increase the accessibility of creative works that apply knowledge of the Earth and space sciences toward thinking about the future.
